This seminar is structured for those with a new interest in wine, as well as individuals who already have some knowledge and tasting experience.  It is intended to provide the most essential information for understanding wine in all of its important different types and styles.  The focus of the discussion portion of the session is on three crucial factors:  How wine is made, the best grapes used for making it, and the importance of location in determining the style and character of the finished wine.  The seminar will also include a guided tasting that will help to illustrate basic differences in wine styles, enabling those who attend to establish their own preferences and build confidence in their ability to appreciate fine wines.

Washington State is the second largest producer of wine in the United States.  A premium wine producing region, Washington is located in the northwest corner of the United States. Washington wines are found nationally in all 50 states and internationally in more than 40 countries.

Washington State has a wide variety of wine growing regions, styles and varieties.  To crisp Rieslings from high elevations to powerful Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon from the Walla Walla Valley, Washington wines are characterized by balance and elegance.

In this seminar, you will learn about the unique growing regions of Washington and have the chance to taste an array of hand crafted Washington wines.
